Al-Roudhan: “We Are Proud of our National Cadres  Working in the Project”

Minister of Commerce & Industry, and State Minister for Public Services Mr./ Khaled Nasser Al-Roudan toured the project of the new passengers’ terminal. He was received by the Director-General of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation - Eng. Yousef Sulaiman Al- Fouzan, Engineers from the Civil Aviation, Representatives of the Ministry of Public Works, Consultant of the project from Foster Company, and Representative of the executing company – LIMAC. During the tour, which was aimed at observing the latest developments and work progress, the Minister expressed his pride for the presence of national cadres in the project, whether working in government bodies or the private-sector companies. He also called for resolving any obstacles that may face the execution plan, and overcoming all difficulties in order to ensure completion of the project in the determined time. Also during the tour, the Project Consultant from Foster Company gave an explanation on the phases of executing the project and the main points thereof. He pointed out that the "new airport terminal" consists of 3 phases incorporating the new Terminal (T2), car-parking building, internal roads, services, and aircraft parking spaces and runways. At the end of the tour, Al-Roudan thanked the parties administering the project, and expressed his gratitude for the development of executing the project which was inaugurated by His Highness the Amir of Kuwait - Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God protect him, accompanied by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Public Works is executing the first phase of the project, which consists of a building with an area of ​​750 Thousand square meters together with more than 50 gates for aircraft. The building can accommodate 25 million passengers annually, and it is planned to provide them with the highest level of services which are also the latest. As regards the second phase, it is in the process of being placed for tendering, and the third phase is at the end of its design stage.
