Al-Fouzan: We expect 6 Million passengers during this summer, representing 8% increase compared to last year

The Director-General of Civil Aviation anticipated that passenger traffic during the period from June to September will reach nearly 6 Million passengers, representing an increase of 8% compared to last summer which was about 5.5 Million passengers. In a press statement, the Director-General of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation - Eng. Yousef Al-Fouzan said that the Directorate has intensified its preparations to receive the passengers during this summer season, by adopting an operational plan for the buildings of Kuwait International Airport, in order to achieve smooth traffic and facilitate the procedures for the passengers. He added that it is expected to operate 43 Thousand flight during the three summer months, i.e. an increase of 9% compared to last year which was nearly 39 Thousand flight. He pointed out that the current summer season will witness distributing the passengers on the four buildings of Kuwait International Airport, thus alleviate the load on the main building, after shifting the passengers of Kuwait Airways Company to the new Passengers’ Terminal (T4), and shifting the passengers of the Jazeera Airways to Passengers’ Terminal (T5). Eng. Al-Fouzan also made mention of forming work-teams operating around the clock, to monitor the work progress and ensure rendering the required service in the airport facilities, together with submitting periodic reports so as to undertake direct action thus avoid any complaints.
