Civil Aviation Participates in the World Meteorological Congress

“Kuwait is keen to deploy the largest number of meteorological stations to enhance capabilities of making accurate weather forecast, and to develop an advanced early warning system for detecting risks of natural disasters”, Deputy Director-General for Air Navigation Services at Kuwait Directorate General of Civil Aviation – Mr./ Khaled Al-Shuaibi said on Thursday. On the sideline of his participation in the activities of the (World Meteorological Congress) organized by the (World Meteorological Organization) in Geneva, Mr./ Al-Shuaibi stressed Kuwait's interest in everything related to monitoring the adverse climate changes and its implications in view of its encounter of severe weather conditions, especially the significant rise in temperature during the summer. He explained that Kuwait is keen to benefit from the activities and training programs offered by the (World Meteorological Organization) that would enhance the capacity-building of national cadres operating in the field of meteorology. He also pointed out that the Kuwaiti delegation took part in wording the clauses related to aviation meteorology as well as the recommendations pertaining to air-traffic services. Kuwait is participating in the activities of the (World Meteorological Congress) held from 3 rd till 14 th June, in the presence of the meteorological observer in Kuwait Meteorological Department Mr./ Abdulaziz Al-Qarawi together with representatives of the Department.
